Why it matters
The Benefits Of Recycling Metal
Recycling metal waste is one of the most rewarding waste streams: ferrous and non-ferrous metals are paid for by weight, and recycled metal uses a fraction of the energy needed to smelt new ore. Metal is one of the few materials that can be recycled again and again without losing its strength or quality. Waste is sorted, processed and melted down so it can become raw material for new products. This keeps valuable resources in use, cuts the need for mining and uses far less energy than producing metal from scratch.

Do you offer commercial scrap metal collection across the UK?
Yes. We provide commercial scrap metal collection for businesses nationwide through our network of haulage partners. Our head office is in Northampton and our depot is in Burscough, Lancashire. We can arrange regular collections or a one-off clearance, depending on how much metal your business produces.
How much does scrap metal collection cost?
The cost depends on the type of metal, how much you have and where you are. Different metals and parts vary in value, so we look at each load individually. Send us the details through our quote form, ideally with a photo, and our team will reply with a quote.
Do you collect small amounts of scrap metal?
Yes. We handle large volumes of metal and smaller loads, such as swarf from a machine shop. If you only produce a little metal waste, we can combine it with other waste you need collected. Tell us what you have and we will tell you what is possible.
Do you collect scrap metal from households?
No. Our metal recycling service is for businesses and other organisations, such as garages, manufacturers, engineering firms and fleet operators. If you have household scrap metal, your local council recycling centre is the best place to take it, and many councils also run bulky waste collections.
What documentation will I get for my metal waste?
You receive a waste transfer note for each collection, which you should keep for two years. If any of your waste is hazardous, you receive a consignment note instead, kept for three years in England and Wales. These records show you met your duty of care.
