Hazardous waste in the UK is controlled by the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005, alongside the duty of care in the Environmental Protection Act 1990. If your business produces waste that is flammable, toxic, corrosive or reactive, it must be identified and described before it leaves your site, stored in labelled containers, kept separate from general waste and never mixed or diluted.
